I'm still working on the first draft of my second novel but a little help from a fellow writer is always welcome.

In Nathan Bransford's How to Write a Novel, he discusses some of the main considerations when creating a novel. Have a look.

    The Bransford article gave a solid overview. I just finished my fourth novel and have come to realize each one had its own rhythm, it's own aura. It's amazing, really.

Real life doesn't just have to provide inspiration for our characters. It can also feed into the locations we use in our writing. This is the school I attended between the ages of seven and eight years old. This photograph, and more of the interior, was kindly taken by an old school friend. Set in the 1920s, rich young widow Millie Harper-Smythe shocks her family (and the staff) with her plans for the future.
